TapeSense collects as little data as possible. Here is exactly what we collect, why, and what we never do with it.

1. Information we collect

Email address — required to issue your TapeSense Pro license (the license is tied to it), and, only if you opt in, to send lesson reminders.
Payment confirmations — when you buy Pro, PayPal processes the payment and tells our server the transaction ID, amount, and status so we can verify it. We never see, handle, or store your card or bank details — those stay with PayPal under PayPal's privacy policy.
License records — your license key, the email it was issued to, and the PayPal transaction it came from, so we can verify your access and help with support requests.
On-device data — your lesson progress, game play counts, and license key are stored in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device except when your license is verified with our server.

2. What we never do

We never sell your personal information.
We never share your email with advertisers or third parties, except the service providers needed to run the site (PayPal for payments, our hosting provider).
We run no advertising trackers on this site.

3. Lesson reminder emails

Reminder emails are strictly opt-in. Every reminder email includes a way to stop receiving them. If you did not opt in, you will not be emailed.

4. Children

TapeSense is an educational site that may be used by learners under 13 only with a parent or guardian's involvement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. Parents may contact us to review or delete their child's information.

5. Your rights

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, at any time through the contact page. Deleting your data will also deactivate your Pro license, since the license is tied to your email.

6. Data security

License keys are cryptographically signed and verified on our server; payment verification happens server-side over encrypted connections. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

7. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date above. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
